Bgreen
Case Study :
Eco-Friendly Footwear Innovation
Introduction
In the competitive world of footwear design and manufacturing, innovation and sustainability have become key differentiators. This case study examines how Oliver (Wing Fa) VOLTE, an experienced footwear product developer, identified a gap in the children's indoor shoe market and created Bgreen, an eco-friendly, comfortable, and practical solution. The Bgreen project showcases Oliver's expertise in footwear product development and highlights the importance of addressing consumer needs through innovative design.

The Challenge
When Oliver's four-year-old son needed indoor shoes for his kindergarten gymnastics classes, she encountered a common problem faced by many parents. The available options on the market were limited to basic slip-on black canvas shoes with a center gore. These shoes were rigid, lacked cushioning, and had a PVC outsole, making them hard and slippery.

Furthermore, Oliver noticed that children not only wore these indoor shoes during gymnastics classes, but also at home and when parents sent them to daycare on Wednesdays when there was no school. As a result, the shoes were worn quite frequently. If the shoes were uncomfortable, they could negatively affect the children's foot health. Since all the children were wearing nearly identical gym shoes, parents often had to decorate them to help distinguish their child's shoes from the others.

Without much choice, Oliver struggled to choose the most suitable indoor shoes for her son. However, after a few tries, her son complained of foot pain and refused to wear the shoes she had chosen.

The Solution: Bgreen Indoor Shoes
Drawing on her extensive experience in developing a wide range of footwear products, Oliver decided to create a pair of comfortable indoor shoes for her son, while at the same time incorporating environmentally friendly elements. Bgreen was born, a brand of children's indoor footwear that combines comfort, sustainability, practicality and a touch of personalisation.
